There’ll be no weekend golf for popular PGA Tour player Michael Kim this weekend, after he missed the cut at the John Deere Classic.
Kim has grown into one of the PGA Tour’s most beloved stars thanks to his interactions on social media with fans and media alike.
However, while Kim has enjoyed a fine 2025 in the main so far, he will not be going into rounds three and four at the John Deere.

With the leader Doug Ghim shooting -12 for his two rounds so far, the cut line was always going to be high and at minus five, it saw players like Kim and more miss out at the minus three mark.
Kim, then, will now have a weekend off before preparing for his next tournament.
Still, living up to his social media reputation, he still found time to brutally assess his own round.

Michael Kim gives honest verdict on his play after missing the cut at the John Deere Classic
It’s good for golf when players who miss the cut and are usually vocal, remain vocal.
We’ve seen so much furore in recent weeks with Rory McIlroy not doing media when playing badly and Collin Morikawa continuing his frosty relationship, that it’s nice to see someone like Michael Kim embrace things regardless.
Indeed, over on X, Kim reacted almost immediately after missing the cut, with just four words needed to sum up his performance.
Kim then went on to follow up his post with further information, adding just why his game was so bad.
“Couldn’t stop missing it left… found every bunker possible. Will work on it for Scottish”
Still, he found time for some light-heartedness as he suggested he wouldn’t be hanging around for any cut line this weekend as he has had to do previously.
With the Scottish Open next up for Kim, he’ll be desperate to use the time off this weekend to get his game sharpened up.
With many a big name playing in Scotland, it’s going to be a tough event to win but with Kim having a good 2025 in the main, he’s one of a number who will fancy their chances.
