Six-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa has shared something that he thinks could slow down Scottie Scheffler’s dominant form.
The 2024 Masters champion hasn’t been seen since his three-shot victory at the RBC Heritage, just one week after securing his second green jacket at Augusta National.
With the PGA Championship at Valhalla now circling into view, it’s hard to look past the 27-year-old landing his third major title.
Scheffler has won four times since the turn of the year, with triumphs at The Players and the Arnold Palmer Invitational accompanying the victories above.
Max Homa says one thing could stop Scottie Scheffler’s scary form

Scheffler is the notable absentee from this week’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow. The two-time major winner is still waiting on the birth of his first child and is currently supporting his wife, Meredith.
With the 27-year-old set to become a father, Homa has claimed parenthood could have an impact on Scheffler’s fortunes on the golf course.
Homa said [via Ten Golf]: “You wanna beat people at their best, and he’s making that incredibly difficult. If there’s one thing that could slow him down, it’s parenthood. I’ve got a cut on my face from my son flying here on Monday.”
“It’s difficult, but Scottie is frustratingly well-rounded as a human being. He is a hard worker at golf, and he will be a hard worker as a dad. I know he’s going to dominate both. He’s probably going to have to make some adjustments with sleep and practice when he’s at home. On the road, it’s a little bit easier.”
Unclear whether Scottie Scheffler will feature at the PGA Championship
Scheffler’s absence this week has raised questions over his presence for next week’s PGA Championship.
The 27-year-old was steadfast in his stance that he would pull out of any major tournament if his wife were imminently due to give birth.
Scheffler doesn’t appear to be the type of character who would be too fussed about missing a tournament, regardless of its importance.
He’s probably aware that the Valhalla event won’t be his last attempt to pick up a PGA Championship. On current form, Scheffler will no doubt be competing at the top of the leaderboard for many years to come.
Of course, for the game of golf, having the best players competing is required. The likes of Brooks Koepka, Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau going head-to-head at Valhalla is an eye-catching prospect.
