PGA Tour star Max Homa has joined in a debate on social media and named Tyrell Hatton as the most underrated golfer in the world right now.
Despite being a six-time European Tour winner and winning once on the PGA Tour as well, Hatton is arguably best known for his mid-round meltdowns and angry outbursts.
Hatton has become synonymous with losing his rag on course and it’s something that splits golf fans around the world.
Of course, a lot of that means it’s easy to forget how good a golfer Hatton actually is. A regular in the European Ryder Cup team and currently ranked 14th in the world.
And joining in a debate sparked by CBS reporter Kyle Porter on X about the most underrated golfer in the world, Max Homa named Hatton as his choice.

You don’t get to be the 14th best player in the world and be a member of Europe’s Ryder Cup team without having a lot about you.
Sure, Tyrell Hatton might have the odd meltdown but overall, he is a fantastic golfer capable of winning on any given day.
Hatton’s record in Europe is better than his record in the PGA but he made a decent start to the season in The Sentry last week and alongside Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick, is considered one of the best to come the British Isles in some time.
Like most golfer, Hatton is striving for consistency and will hope to pick up at least one more win on the PGA Tour this year to add to his win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2020.
2024 is going to be a massive year for a number of golfers and Hatton will hope to be one of those to come out of the year with a big win or two to his name.
