For many of us who have grew up watching golf in the last few decades, Tiger Woods has been the one constant in terms of getting people to tune into an event.
Woods is nearing the end of his historic career as a PGA Tour player and his injuries mean he is only able to play in a few events a year now anyway.
However, as we saw at the PNC Championship, Woods is very much still a huge draw in the game.

Playing alongside his son Charlie, Tiger managed to bring the viewers in for the PGA Tour as he battled it out with Bernhard and Jason Langer in a tense playoff.
In the end, team Woods lost out to the Langers but it once again showed that when it comes to needle movers in golf, Woods remains the top man.

Of course, with Woods due to celebrate his 49th birthday on the 30th December, he is just a year away from being eligible for the Champions Tour.
It remains to be seen if Woods will indeed play on that tour. But if he does, he will be allowed to use a golf cart to get around, which one would imagine would increase his chances of success.
And over on social media, with the question of golf carts being used on the PGA Tour, fans believe it’s time to change the rules when it comes to Tiger’s future.
Golf fans call for golf carts as Tiger Woods approaches Champions Tour eligibility
The subject of carts on the golf course has been debated many a time over the years but as of now, the PGA Tour have resisted temptations to let them be used.
Of course, players like Woods would benefit from carts being sanctioned, albeit Woods himself has said he’d never do it unless sanctioned.
But over on X and with Woods approaching 50, fans are now calling on the cart rule to be changed.
While @JetsFanNick also backed the idea and encouraging Woods to go deep in tournaments again.
“The guy is a legend to the sport, completely changed the game and nobody will truly understand how much he grew the game before “growing the game” became a phrase for golf. Let the man have a cart, it would help him big time, too. We need him on Sunday fighting for the lead one last time.”
Another fan suggested Tiger’s record of pushing boundaries means he should qualify for one.
And @ChannelingRBG agreed with the stance, admitting they’d love to see Woods win again.
“Agree a cart will make a difference. Every tournament he does now it’s the middle of the third day, like the 45th where he starts to leak gas. I think Tiger still wants to win one more before the Seniors, but a few of Sam’s wins were on the Sr tour, so who cares?“
While @ST9854 suggested that if Tiger played with a buggy and got the practice in, it would serve him well going into the majors.
“If he can get tournament reps in a buggy he’ll likely have another run or two at the majors. He might even win another His game is still there. Just too much competitive rust”
Finally, @ericcrystal6 was also on the side of Woods joining the Champions Tour to put him in shape for the Majors.
“My hope is that he plays enough where it will keep him in tournament shape so he’s more effective in majors. Would love to see 1 more (I know it’s unlikely).”
PGA Tour won’t budge anytime soon despite Tiger’s time coming
The idea that we change the rules and it would bring more from Tiger Woods is a compelling one and in theory, it would help keep people interested in the product more.
However, if you change it for Tiger then you change it for everyone and that’s where things could get messy depending on who and who doesn’t opt to use them.
For now, it’s unlikely the PGA Tour will budge on this, even if it does mean Tiger sticking around a bit more.
