Lee Westwood left the PGA Tour and DP World Tour to join LIV Golf way back in 2022.
Westwood received plenty of criticism for his move at the time, just like every other player who joined LIV Golf did.
The Englishman has 44 worldwide wins to his name, and was one of the most consistent players in the professional game throughout his career.
However, he has regressed over the past few years since moving to LIV. That said, he does seem to be more than happy playing on the Saudi-backed tour.
Westwood has admitted the fact that LIV don’t qualify for world ranking points right now is a problem.
However, if that does change at some point, it would be no surprise to see more top players make the same move that Westwood did three years ago.

Westwood qualified for The Open Championship a few weeks ago, so he clearly still has serious ability.
But where does he see his future lying? Could he actually make a return to the DP World Tour?
Or will Westwood see out his playing days on LIV?
Westwood owes the DP World Tour some serious cash.
The Englishman has racked up quite the bill in unpaid fines since joining LIV.
He sat down for an exclusive interview with The Telegraph, and opened up on how his move to join the Saudi-backed golf league has been a rather costly one.
The 52-year-old was asked what he’s planning to do after the LIV season finishes.
Westwood said: “Honestly, I don’t. I haven’t planned any further than August when the LIV season finishes.
“I can go back to the DP World Tour, you know. LIV would pay my fines, which are ridiculously about £900,000 and I still have several exemptions to play on that circuit. LIV would already have paid my fines if I’d asked, but I didn’t do it out of principle. It’s a daft amount anyway.”
It will be interesting to see whether Westwood decides to move back to the DP World Tour at some point.
He has made it very clear that LIV Golf will pay his fines for him, if that’s what he does in fact decide to do.

How he hasn’t at least got one or two to his name is truly baffling, given the quality of his golf throughout the years.

He will undoubtedly have real regrets that he never managed to win a major.
