Keegan Bradley ‘quickly realised’ why he needed to appoint Brandt Snedeker as a Vice Captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Bradley has been having sleepless nights since landing the captaincy role for the event, which takes place in New York next year.

Team USA also has Webb Simpson as a Vice Captain, with Bradley saying Stewart Cink deserved the captaincy.

But it is Bradley who will lead Team USA at Bethpage Black at the end of September, with further Vice Captains set to be announced shortly.

It represents Snedeker’s first appearance as a Vice Captain, with the 43-year-old having played at the competition twice.

Keegan Bradley realised something about new Ryder Cup Vice Captain Brandt Snedeker

Snedeker has a 4-2-0 record at the competition, going undefeated in 2016 to help USA clinch the trophy in 2016.

Bradley will undoubtedly rely heavily on his compatriot in New York, with the Captain now sharing his thoughts behind the decision.

“As I’ve started preparing for the 2025 Ryder Cup, I quickly realised that Brandt was someone I wanted by my side,” said Bradley, as per the Ryder Cup website.

“Having competed in two Ryder Cups, including a stellar individual performance in 2016, Brandt’s experience and insight will surely be beneficial to our team in the months ahead.”

What will Brandt Snedeker bring to the Ryder Cup?

Snedeker has great memories of the competition, with his 3-0-0 record at Hazeltine National ensuring he was the only American to go undefeated.

The experienced player had a key role in the 17-11 victory on home soil, with Bradley surely aiming for a similar result this time around.

He has a big task on his hands in getting Team USA into shape, with the side having been beaten heavily by Team Europe in Rome.

But Snedeker should help Bradley get Team USA back on track, with the former now sharing his delight at his Vice Captain role.

“I am so grateful to Keegan and the PGA of America for giving me the opportunity to represent my country in the role of Vice Captain,” said Snedeker.

“The Ryder Cup is unlike anything in our sport and I hope to bring the passion and pride to help Keegan deliver his vision of what a Ryder Cup in New York should look like.

“I am so excited to serve alongside my good friend Webb and know we will do everything in our power to help Keegan and the players be ready for a great competition next September at Bethpage Black.”
