Keegan Bradley has hardly set the world alight as USA’s Ryder Cup captain and he’s now admitted he hopes one of his team is angry with him.

Bradley has made some questionable decisions at Bethpage, with the call to go with Harris English and Collin Morikawa twice coming under particular fire.

With Bradley a surprising choice as US captain in the first place, his performance – and his team’s – at Bethpage has left him open to even more questions.

One of the big questions he will face is over team selection for the specific sessions. Bradley chose to sit a number of players on Saturday, with Ben Griffin among those not to feature.

In fact, when it comes to Griffin – who had a superb 2025 on the PGA Tour – Bradley has admitted he hopes he has annoyed him ahead of the Sunday singles.

Keegan Bradley says why he expects Ben Griffin to be angry with him

Any Ryder Cup is going to have players who don’t get picked for certain sessions.

Luke Donald has had to do the same, leaving Rasmus Hojgaard out of proceedings in what he described as a tough conversation.

For Bradley, the situation was similar with Griffin and the USA captain has admitted he’d also be annoyed.

“No, we didn’t. We were trying to send out…it was tough. The hardest part about this captaincy is having to sit the guys because everybody is so good. You look at the pairings, and you have to look at the data and you have to look at, all right, we have to send out a powerful group, send a message. And that’s what we did,” Bradley explained.

“It’s easy to sit back now and kind of second guess everything. But I know Ben Griffin is going to go out tomorrow…I hope he’s p—– off. He should be. I would be p—–. I sat a whole day Saturday in Gleneagles.

“It was one of the lowest moments of my career. Along with Phil, we sat. And I hope he comes out tomorrow ready to prove me wrong and ready to go out and win his point.”

Ben Griffin’s lack of playing time is a major surprise

It really is quite baffling that we’ve seen Ben Griffin used so sparingly at Bethpage.

Going into the event, Griffin was coming off a career year, winning twice and finishing runner-up twice in 2025, while also recording 11 top ten finishes.

With the US team in need of a reset after their nightmare in Rome, players like Griffin, J.J. Spaun and Cam Young were expected to lead the charge.

Instead, Keegan Bradley appears to have played safe and in the end, it’s backfired.

Griffin will be annoyed, and rightly so. And come the time his singles match is done on Sunday, it probably won’t even matter if he’s won or not.
