The Ryder Cup is only a few days away, so time is running out for team captains Keegan Bradley and Luke Donald to prepare.

Both Bradley and Donald took to the stage at Bethpage Black on Monday afternoon to discuss all things Ryder Cup before the event starts on Friday.

The biggest talking points had been the team selections, most notably Bradley’s decision not to play, but the focus is now on the golf course and potential pairings.

The United States captain made an interesting comment about the conditions at Bethpage Black in his latest press conference.

Keegan Bradley makes ‘amazing’ Bethpage Black claim before the Ryder Cup

As the home team captain, Bradley has been able to tailor the golf course at Bethpage Black to suit the US players.

The 38-year-old is extremely pleased with how the golf course has turned out and even made an “amazing” claim in his press conference.

“Yeah, I think we sort of look at the analytical data and how our players perform at their best, and we set the course up accordingly,” Bradley said four days before the Ryder Cup.

“One of the great things about being the home captain is to be able to have a little say in how the course is set up.

“I’ve played this course 50 to 100 times. This is probably the best condition I’ve ever seen it.

“I’m really proud of the superintendent and the staff out here for getting this course to look this amazing.”

Luke Donald comments on Bethpage Black conditions before the Ryder Cup

Luke Donald was also asked about the setup at Bethpage Black, and his response was noteworthy.

The European captain revealed that the golf course is playing much easier than at previous US Opens, so there will be lots of birdies this weekend.

“You know, we haven’t been out as a team this week so far,” Donald said. “We were out here [last] Monday and Tuesday for a practice trip.

“I think it’s nothing really out of the ordinary of what we expected. You look at previous Ryder Cups held in the US… Not a ton of rough, the greens are at a good speed.

“I think Bethpage is a tough course, but it’s certainly not set up like a US Open. I think you’re going to have to expect to go out there and make some birdies. These are world-class players.”
