Keegan Bradley might be the Ryder Cup captain for Team USA in 2025 but he’s got some practice coming up in the Presidents Cup very soon.

Bradley was the surprise pick to be the Team USA leader for Bethpage next year, after players like Tiger Woods couldn’t commit.

Of course, Bradley is very much still an active player on the PGA Tour and he’s even hoping to make it to the Ryder Cup as a player.

Before that, though, Bradley has been selected as part of the assistant captains for the Presidents Cup in September.

Bradley, of course, can qualify to play in that as well if he can produce the goods, albeit, he needs to do something pretty spectacular.

Keegan Bradley responds when asked if he wants to play in the Presidents Cup

Speaking after his third round of 6-under put him into contention at The Wyndham, Bradley was asked about playing in the Presidents Cup.

And Bradley admitted that he’d like to play, but is looking forward to being part of the set-up regardless.

“A little bit. I have got to go out and do something great to get on the team, which is something I am trying to do,” Bradley said.

“Either way I’m looking forward to being there and helping USA win!”

Bradley would be better to go as purely an assistant captain

While you have to admire the belief and ambition from Keegan Bradley, he is surely better to be involved in the Presidents Cup as one of the captains.

He needs to get some practice in for that role ahead of what will be a massive 2025 for him.

Taking the Ryder Cup gig very much came out of nowhere and given his age and the fact he’s still a player at the moment, Bradley needs to get that experience of being a leader.

As it stands, then, the American would be better to focus on purely being involved in a leadership role.
