Like many golfers, Justin Thomas can probably recall a number of what if moments from his career, with the 31-year-old going through a raft of up and downs already.

Justin Thomas has been one of the biggest stars on the PGA Tour for the best part of a decade now. And of course, he has managed to win two major titles in that time. Meanwhile, he has also won the Players Championship. And Thomas has been a stalwart of Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup sides since his debut in the team format in 2017.

The last couple of years have been tougher for Thomas, with his victory at the 2022 PGA Championship proving to be his most recent victory on the PGA Tour.

There have been some close calls, including at the ZOZO Championship this year where he finished in a tie for second. He also led the Hero World Challenge after the third round before Scottie Scheffler left the rest of the field behind.

But when asked on Skratch which shot from his career he would take a mulligan on if he could, Thomas suggested that he would opt for a moment at Bellerive where his chances of catching Brooks Koepka were largely dashed.

“I’d take it at the PGA Championship 2018, the 14th fairway. One, maybe two back of Brooks, and I double crossed a wedge into a back bunker and I hit an unbelievable bunker shot to about three, three and a half feet and I missed it and made bogey. I’d really like that wedge shot over,” he said.

Thomas was asked about a variety of topics in the quick-fire Q&A, including what has surprised him most since he became a father recently.

“Just what you do, without thinking or anything,” he simply said.

Meanwhile, the world number 20 was asked what the most nervous he has ever been in his career is. And perhaps unsurprisingly, Thomas picked out his Ryder Cup debut at Le Golf National in 2018.

“First tee shot of my first Ryder Cup. You kind of black out,” he added.

After some promising signs in the last couple of months, it would be little surprise if there were more first tee nerves for Thomas to contend with at Bethpage next year – and perhaps a major championship or two where he finds himself in contention coming down the stretch.
