The PGA Championship is next on the agenda for golf’s biggest names and two of America’s biggest hopes at Quail Hollow, Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay, have taken to social media to give their thoughts on where their game currently is.
Thomas finished in second place at Philadelphia Cricket Club but could have been closer to winning had it not been for some poor putting down the stretch.
As for Patrick Cantlay, he produced a solid final round to charge up the leaderboard and finish fourth, his best finish so far this season.
With the PGA Championship now around the corner, both Thomas and Cantlay are looking to keep their momentum going.
For Thomas, a win at Quail Hollow would make him a three-time major champion, while for Cantlay, it would break his duck of not yet having won one.
And over on their respective social media accounts, both players have now posted ahead of the PGA.

A return to form is welcome for both of these American golf superstars and with Thomas already winning in 2025, Cantlay will want to follow suit.
Cantlay has not won since 2022 on the PGA Tour but taking to X, he feels his game is looking positive ahead of the second major of the year.
As for Justin Thomas, he too took to the socials, this on Instagram, and he suggested he too is feeling good about things ahead of Quail Hollow.
Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay’s record at the PGA Championship
Thomas’ record in the PGA speaks for itself really, with two wins to his name ensuring he’ll forever be in the record books.
Thomas has also had two further top tens, including a T8 last year.
As for Cantlay, his best effort came with a T3 back in 2019 but since then, he’s not managed to get to the same sort of level. Indeed, he finished T53 last year in a disappointing display at Valhalla.
| Justin Thomas | Patrick Cantlay | |
| Best finish | 1st (Twice) | T3 |
| Worst finish | CUT (2021) | CUT (2022) |
| Top Tens | 4 | 2 |
| 2024 finish | T8 | T53 |
With Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler in such fine form, Thomas and Cantlay know they’ll need to be at their best to win out this week.
However, both have decent enough records at the PGA and on their day, they are both good enough to win.
