Justin Rose suggests how Team Europe plan to silence the American fans at the Ryder Cup

Justin Rose is going to be a key man for Team Europe at the Ryder Cup in New York next month and he’s been speaking at the Dutch Formula One Grand Prix about what’s to come.

Rose’s outstanding form in 2025 meant he didn’t have to rely on a pick this time around, with the Englishman comfortably in the top six.

Going into the event at Bethpage Black, Rose knows full well he was one of the more experienced heads in the squad and that experience will be needed.

Naturally, a lot of the focus has been on the venue and with Bethpage set to host thousands of passionate New Yorkers over the four days, we could see fireworks.

Nevertheless, Rose himself is up for the challenge it seems and has been speaking about the task that lies ahead.

Rose is an avid F1 fan himself and with a bit of downtime for him after the FedEx Cup wound up last week, he’s been in the Netherlands with the McLaren F1 team.

However, talk soon got onto golf and specifically, the Ryder Cup.

Indeed, when asked about the event itself on Sky Sports, Rose couldn’t appear more excited.

“Yeah you know, obviously delighted to have played so well at the right time to cement myself in the team. You know, last time around I had to rely on Luke and that pick which obviously went well for me but yeah, delighted to be part of the squad again and you know, it’s a huge task ahead of us. But you know, I think Ryder Cup is the one we all look forward to more than anything else and I think obviously from a fan and crowd point of view, it’s unmatched really,” Rose said while at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Rose was then asked about how to win in America, given Europe’s record has been poor in recent times.

“I think Medinah is the only one in recent years we can draw off in terms of experience. Home advantage has been so big in recent times and I think since 2006, except Medinah, and to be honest we were getting hammered for most of the week but the thing is the team is resilient,” Rose added.

“The crowd is a big factor but you know, as soon as you get some momentum going the crowd go quiet. We’ve just got to get to the tipping point where we get to the point where we are basically in control of that feeling come the Sunday.”

Team Europe’s record in the USA

Justin Rose is bang on the money when he talks about home advantage here and for Team USA, it’s been huge.

For Team Europe, the win at Medinah in 2012 is very much the outlier, given the US have won nearly every other time since the early 2000s.

As it stands, home advantage is very much key for both teams and we saw in Rome last year how dominant a team can be with the crowd with them.

Going into Bethpage, it will be a real fire pit and if Team Europe can somehow come out on top, then it will go down as one of the biggest and best Ryder Cup wins of all time.
