Justin Rose will be playing alongside Tommy Fleetwood in the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship with Scottie Scheffler tucked in just behind them.

Rose heads into the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship one stroke adrift of Fleetwood, with Scheffler a further shot back.

The 2025 PGA Tour season has been a rewarding one for both of the Englishmen, but the world number one has been on another planet to everyone else.

Scheffler has been playing the best golf we have seen since Tiger Woods’ heyday, and even without his best stuff he is still contending in Memphis.

Meanwhile, Fleetwood has been in fine form at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and seems to be completely at ease with his game right now.

The same can be said for his good friend. Rose felt poorly in the lead-up to the FedEx St. Jude, but playing no practice rounds has ultimately served him well by ensuring that he has been able to maintain high energy levels.

Sunday’s final round is destined to be an absolute classic.

Fleetwood will be in the final group tomorrow with Rose.

Meanwhile, Scheffler will be in the penultimate group alongside US Open champion J.J. Spaun.

Rose was asked by reporters after his round whether he is thinking about Scheffler’s presence just behind him.

He said: 100 percent, yeah. I knew Scottie was 12-under. I was 12-under playing the last. I knew it would be nice to play with Tommy on Sunday. Tommy is probably happy I’m playing with him on Sunday rather than Scottie, too, so he was probably cheering that birdie I would imagine just because it’s a comfortable environment for the two of us to play.

There’s a whole chasing pack tomorrow that have nothing to lose, so that’s always dangerous. If you build a six shot lead, that’s something to think about. A one-shot lead, you’re expecting the whole pack to come at you. It’s going to be who comes out tomorrow, who plays free and who plays well.

He was then asked what his feelings are about the prospect of playing alongside one of his closest friends in the final round on Sunday.

The Englishman said:Yeah, I haven’t done it many times, to be honest with you. Yeah, I think I’m pretty — there’s a lot at stake tomorrow. If you win, clearly tons at stake. Whatever happens tomorrow, either of us is going to have to just hang in there, keep having as best day as we possibly can because there’s just lots to play for. We want to come out and win. We want to come out and play great. That’s objective A.

But if you’ve got to resort to plan B, we’ll be out there, we’ll be playing in good spirits, we’ll have our heads down, work as hard as we can, shake hands and give each other a hug on 18.

Rose might just be right there. Fleetwood should feel at ease playing alongside Rose. However, it must be said that Scheffler might have forced the Englishman to raise his game, had they been paired together on the final day in Memphis.

Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Scottie Scheffler’s FedEx St. Jude stats

The two Englishmen and the American have been the best players at TPC Southwind this week, and their stats prove that.

They are ranked first, second and third respectively in the strokes gained total category this week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Here are how their numbers from the first three rounds in Memphis stack up against each other:

Strokes gained off the tee583
Strokes gained approach4913
Strokes gained around the green432956

It will be a hugely exciting round to watch tomorrow, as Scheffler attempts to record his 18th PGA Tour win by chasing down Fleetwood and Rose at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

However, if Fleetwood strikes the ball like he did in round three, he may well earn his first PGA Tour win in what is his 162nd start.
