Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII scored yet another team win on the LIV Golf tour but the Spaniard has hit back at suggestions that he and his teammates look unhappy when out playing golf.
Rahm finished fourth in the individual event as Joaquin Niemann won out again but in the team standings, Legion XIII finished two clear of Rippers GC to continue their fine work in recent times.
Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin and Caleb Surratt all produced big moments to get things over the line.
Still, as usual with Hatton and Rahm, there were moments where both players didn’t exactly look their happiest on course.
However, Rahm has insisted that he and Hatton get a bad rep when it comes to their attitudes and believes they deserve more credit.

Jon Rahm says why he and Tyrrell Hatton deserve more credit
Speaking to the media after his Legion XIII team won another LIV event, Rahm was asked about his apparent lack of smiles while out playing.
However, in response to that, Rahm hit back and suggested that both he and Hatton seem to get unfairly criticised for how they look on course.
“I would say it might not be shown on the broadcast, but both Tyrrell and I smile a lot more than I think we’re given credit for, to be honest. Honestly, if we made a couple mistakes on a couple bad holes, there’s nothing to smile about,” Rahm said.
“But I can remember three or four instances vividly where we were laughing. It may be about anything funny that we did, about misfortune on the golf course, whatever it may be, but there’s definitely stretches of golf where you get a little bit more frustrated. You don’t need to do much wrong out here for something to go wrong. It’s a tricky golf course.
“As it goes to my play, I’ve played solid all week. I ended up four back with Joaquín’s birdie on the last, but I missed three very short putts inside three feet this week, which is unusual, and none of them really felt like it was a bad stroke.
“The pins were in tricky positions on tricky slopes and I wish I could take that back. We always wish we could take shots back. But that’s definitely easily two, three — should be three shots that I left out there. Besides the first day, I didn’t see a lot go in. I hit some good putts, but it’s just golf. It is what it is. But those three errors is something that shouldn’t happen or I should clean up better.”
Could Jon Rahm win another major in 2025?
With so much focus on the PGA side of things with Rory McIlroy flying and Scottie Scheffler remaining world number one, a few LIV players seem to be being overlooked.
However, Jon Rahm is consistently good over on the LIV tour and his Legion XIII team are one of the most successful over there.
Rahm has finished top ten in every event this season and won two of the final three events last season, with the one he didn’t win resulting in a second place finish.
In fact, since he moved to LIV, Rahm has yet to finish outside the top 10, proving very much that he remains one of the best players around.
With the PGA Championship next month and the US Open to come, Rahm is certainly one to consider when it comes to picking a favourite.
