Jon Rahm names the one thing a professional golfer must have if they’re to be as successful as him

Jon Rahm might not be on the PGA Tour anymore but he’s still a man who knows all about winning when it comes to professional golf.

Rahm caused shockwaves when he made a move to LIV Golf for a huge sum of money and he has since had to deal with critics and all that comes with it since that move.

However, he is settled on LIV and is one of the higher scorers in their format, while he’s also getting more time away from the course with his family.

Of course, it’s also easy to forget that Rahm was in fact the world number one prior to Scottie Scheffler’s dominance.

Rahm also has two majors to his name – including The Masters – and is very much one of the key players in Europe’s Ryder Cup team.

But despite all that talent, and all those achievements, Rahm has said that it comes to down just one thing if you want to be successful like he has been in golf.

Speaking about his past and if he knew he’d achieve what he has in golf, Rahm admitted that the ambition and belief had always been there.

“Did I know [that I’d be world number one and win two majors], no. But did I have the belief it would happen? Yeah, sure,” Rahm said.

“I think if you want to accomplish anything you have to have almost a blind confidence in yourself in that you can accomplish what you want and that’s how I believe a lot of people have achieved what they have and it’s how I believe I’ve achieved what I have.

“I have faith. As a competitor you have to have it because if you don’t have it for yourself it’s going to be a very hard run.”

Rahm remains one of the best around

While we don’t see as much of Rahm as we’d like due to LIV’s broadcast deals, he is still very much one of the very best players in the world.

It’s actually a massive shame that we don’t see him more and we don’t see him playing against the best the PGA Tour has to offer.

We all got a glimpse just weeks ago at the US Open what can happen when two giants of the game collide and Rahm is the conversation as a golfing giant.

For now, we have to make do with the odd glimpse at the majors.

But if there’s ever a time when it all comes together, then Rahm will always be in contention, even when the very best are teeing it up.
