Jon Rahm fell apart on the final day at the Olympics as he went from overnight leader to not even finishing in the medal places in Paris.

Rahm still managed to shoot under par on Sunday but with others doing so well and eventual winner Scottie Scheffler shooting nine-under, it was never going to be enough.

The Spaniard spoke of how much it hurt to miss out on a medal in Paris but in the main, it’s been a positive enough few weeks for Rahm.

He won the LIV UK event last week and after a poor year in the majors, seems to be finding some of his best form once more.

And with the end of the LIV season to come, Rahm has admitted he’s keen to take away some positives from the week in Paris, despite missing out on a medal.

Jon Rahm explains why he’s feeling good despite missing out on a medal in Paris

Speaking about his performance to the media after his final round in Paris, Rahm admitted to still being able to take some positives away from the week.

“At one point between Friday and the front nine today, probably about as good as I’ve played since early last year,” Rahm said.

“So that’s a massive positive to think about going towards the end of the season in LIV.

“I would have liked to play that good earlier in the year but it’s nice to, on a fourth week in a row, to put up that performance. It’s too bad I couldn’t finish it off.”

While Rahm was happy enough, he did concede he’d been a touch frustrated with his putting all week and that essentially, it cost him.

Quite what the rest of 2024 and 2025 will bring for Rahm, remains to be seen.

But with a Ryder Cup to come next year, seeing Rahm in form is a positive for Luke Donald and co.
