Jon Rahm admits there’s one area of his game he needs to ‘worry’ about after his season on LIV Golf this year

Jon Rahm enjoyed another hugely successful LIV Golf season, winning the Individual Championship title for the second year in a row.

Rahm was disappointed about his LIV Golf season despite the success, having failed to win a single event throughout the campaign.

Joaquin Niemann, in contrast, secured five wins throughout 2025, but finished second to Rahm in the LIV Golf individual standings.

The Spaniard has since turned his focus to the DP World Tour, finishing T13 at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

He was among the European Ryder Cup players taking on the event in preparation for Bethpage Black later this month.

But he has raised concerns following his latest efforts on LIV Golf, having analysed his proximity to hole stats for its YouTube channel.

The two-time major winner ranked 39th overall for proximity to the hole, but was up in third place for his shots from 50-75 yards.

Elsewhere, he ranks 19th in the list from 75-100 yards, 31st from 100-125 yards, and 43rd from 125-150 yards.

Giving his take on the numbers, Rahm said: “I am very surprised there. To be third that close to the green. It is a number that I am fairly confident with but it’s not a distance that happens often.

“I would say that I would be a lot more focused on the 100 to 150 yard [range], which has been a thing over my career, because of the way I drive it, I am going to hit that shot more often.

“I would definitely like to be on the top half, not the bottom, so that would definitely be something to worry about. But not now and I certainly don’t think it’s the reason I have not won events.”

How did Jon Rahm perform in key areas in the 2025 LIV Golf season?

While Rahm remarkably fell short of an individual title win in 2025, many of his key stats show just how impressive he was on the course.

The Spaniard led the way for the birdies and greens in regulation % figures, while he took third place for the scrambling table.

Such efforts somehow didn’t lead to a victory, although Rahm did manage to finish second or T2 on four occasions.

More impressively, however, he finished in the top 10 in 12 of his 13 appearances, and even then the only outlier was a T11 finish in Dallas.

But his focus has turned away from LIV Golf and is now on the Ryder Cup, with Bethpage Black in his sights.

And intriguingly, he will very likely be required to hit the shots that he is indeed worried about given the length of the New York course and his ability with the driver.
