Johnson Wagner believes that Jordan Spieth will indeed win a fourth major title in his career, and has suggested when he will get across the line.
Had golf fans been told in 2017 that Jordan Spieth would enter the 2026 season still awaiting a fourth major title, it is likely that they would not have believed it for a second.
What do you think about Luke Donald’s appointment?
Back in 2015, Spieth played some of the greatest golf the game has seen since Tiger Woods. He won the first two majors of the year, while he finished no lower than fourth in a major.
Unfortunately, he has not come close to hitting those heights again. Spieth has not won on the PGA Tour since the RBC Heritage in 2022, while his most recent top 10 in a major came at The Masters the following year.
Jordan Spieth backed to complete the Career Grand Slam
But speaking on CBS Sports, Johnson Wagner backed the Texan to not only win a fourth major but also complete the Career Grand Slam – next year.
“It was from the year 2000 to the year 2025 before we saw anybody complete the Career Grand Slam after Tiger. And before that, you’ve got to go way back as well. We are living in this incredible moment where we have Jordan Spieth now, since 2017, going for the Career Grand Slam at the PGA Championship. I don’t think he’s going to get it done at Aronimink. I think it’s going to be next year at PGA Frisco that he gets it done in his hometown,” he said.

“But I think Scottie Scheffler, we could have back to back seasons of winning the Career Grand Slam, I just think there’s nothing like it. And for Scottie to do first attempt, on his birthday, the stars are aligning. It’s one of my favourite golf courses in the world, possibly my favourite US Open venue, Shinnecock Hills, I just think it wouldn’t get any better for me than that. And then, if you think about Rahm and Xander and the other guys that have two majors, in the next 10 years, we could have four, five guys completing this Career Grand Slam, which I think is an unbelievable accomplishment and speaks to the true overall quality of a player’s game.”
How Jordan Spieth has performed at the PGA Championship during his career
History is unfortunately not on Spieth’s side when it comes to winning the PGA Championship.
He has registered two top five finishes in 13 starts. Spieth has only been less successful in the US Open, with his victory in 2015 being his only top five in that event.

The PGA Tour's best players will be in action at Bay Hill…
His most recent top 10 at the PGA Championship came back in 2019. Spieth has not even finished inside the top 25 since then.
He has made a bright start to the 2026 PGA Tour season, going on to finish tied for 12th at the Genesis Invitational. Along the way, there have been flashes of his former brilliance.
But clearly, there is a long, long way to go before Spieth is ready to contend in another major.
