What has made the accomplishments of Scottie Scheffler in 2024 all the more remarkable is how easy the world number one has made things look on his way to nine victories across the season.
The moments where Scottie Scheffler has really displayed his emotions during a tournament can potentially be counted on two hands, with it almost jarring when the 28-year-old celebrated holing a crucial putt down the stretch on Sunday at the Olympics.
With that, it is always intriguing when players talk about what Scheffler is like when he is not playing in an event. A robot would probably marvel at his consistency over the course of a tournament, and yet, Scheffler remains cool and calm.
But it does appear that many of his peers are delighted for the two-time major champion. Speaking on Subpar, Joel Dahmen explained what he has always thought about Scheffler.

Meanwhile, he also shared which young player has impressed him in a similar way in 2024.
“I didn’t get to play with him, or see him much with the new designated events. But a couple years prior, I got to play with him a couple of times. One, he’s an incredibly nice guy, and I still love to give him crap all the time on the greens, or chipping whenever we see each other. And he’s such a fun guy and he’s always chatty,” he said of Scheffler.

“Xander had an unbelievable year, obviously winning two majors. But every single week, Scottie’s on the leaderboard. And it is one of the best seasons since the Tiger era, and that’s probably still in the middle of Tiger’s great years. It’s hard to imagine especially today, the competition’s so deep now, and the courses that he’s doing it on, he’s playing the best and the hardest courses every week and he’s doing that.
“We played with Ludvig Aberg in San Antonio and he hit this four iron on a par three and it just pure slammed to 15 feet. And I looked at Geno and I said, ‘thank goodness, I don’t have to play against this guy very often’. So I feel that same way about Scottie as well.”
How Ludvig Aberg fared in the 2024 season
Aberg had a really interesting first full year on the PGA Tour. Of course, his rise in 2023 was a rapid one as he turned professional in June before playing in the Ryder Cup just a few months later. He would also win for the first time on the PGA Tour shortly after at the RSM Classic.
He may be a little disappointed that he has not yet won for a second time on tour. But there was plenty of promising performances along the way.
| Ludvig Aberg | 2024 |
| Events played (PGA Tour) | 20 |
| Wins | 0 |
| Runners-up | 3 |
| Top 10s | 8 |
| FedEx Cup finish | 12th |
| World ranking | 5th |
The Swede finished second on three occasions, while he had eight top 10s. He marked his major championship debut by finishing second to Scheffler at the Masters in April.
When you consider that Scheffler did not win for the first time on the PGA Tour until 2022, it appears that Aberg – who is fifth in the world rankings – is well ahead of schedule. Perhaps it is a matter of time before the youngster takes that next step and wins one of the flagship events.
