Tiger Woods is underway in his second round of the Genesis Open at The Riviera Country club as he looks to improve on yesterday’s round.
Woods ended the first day one over and while there were signs of the old Tiger with some shots, in the main, it looked a bit of a struggle for the 15-time major champion.
At the time of writing, Woods had got himself back to level par after knocking in a birdie on the opening hole of his second round.

Of course, to improve on yesterday’s day one score, Woods will need to make a few more putts. And to do that, he’ll need to get used to the greens a touch more.
Indeed, Woods himself admitted he’d been caught out by the speed of the greens, conceding they’d been faster than ever before at the same venue.
“I struggled with the speed of the greens even though I made a few. They were a lot faster than I’d ever seen at Riviera before and also I didn’t feel like I hit a lot of greens either. Missed a lot, and then was stressing out on the short-game,” Woods said.
Tiger Woods needs to find short-game again to be successful
With all the injury problems Woods has had over the years and how far the best players now hit it, it’s going to be so important he somehow finds his way back to being a short-game king.
Like at any level of golf, being good in and around the greens can take so many shots off a round.
In his prime, Woods was one of the very best from close, including when on the actual green with the flat-stick.
Woods will be hoping to make a few more over the course of his second round and with that, get himself under par and beyond the cut-line for Saturday and Sunday.
