Jon Rahm has been speaking about all things golf today and has shared just how special the feeling of being a Masters champion is.
Rahm won the event at Augusta in 2023 and will be one of the favourites going into the event for 2024.
Despite his move to LIV and everything that goes with that move, Rahm is very much still one of the most popular players in the world and there’ll be more than a few people rooting for him this year.
Indeed, Rahm will be hoping to join a small list of names who have gone back to back in Augusta – see Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo and Jack Nicklaus.
And speaking to Golf.com, Rahm has explained just how special the feeling of walking up the 18th knowing you’re the champion really is.

Speaking to the popular Golf magazine on their YouTube channel, Rahm spoke of the feeling he got when he knew he’d won it.
“I never understood. I always thought ‘oh winning a major, any of them is great’ but after winning one at Augusta, there’s definitely a different feel, where you’re a champion. That walk up 18, knowing that I’d won, was quite incredible,” Rahm said.
Of course, the walk up the 18th at Augusta has brought about some of the most iconic moments in the sport’s history.
Nobody will forget seeing Tiger Woods strut up there in 2019 as he completed the most remarkable of comebacks after years in the wilderness, while in 2021, an emotional Hideki Matsuyama couldn’t hide his joy.
Rahm, then, will be hoping he can become one of the all-time greats by going back to back. The competition this year is fierce and there is the added spice of the likes of Rahm and others having left for LIV.
April, then, could give us one of the most exciting major golf tournaments in years.
