Sahith Theegala and Mito Pereira were amongst the youngsters who played a starring role in the first season of Full Swing on Netflix, with the pair searching for their first wins on the PGA Tour at the time of its release.
Full Swing has done an excellent job of providing golf fans with a look behind the curtain. Of course, it came along at the perfect time as golf deals with unprecedented uncertainty following the formation of LIV Golf.
It has arguably made a star of Joel Dahmen. But it also provided a platform for a number of talented youngsters, with Sahith Theegala and Mito Pereira featuring in episode seven of season one.
At the time, neither player had won on the PGA Tour. But a lot has changed in the two years since.
Sahith Theegala looking to build on his first PGA Tour victory
Theegala has become one of the most popular players on tour in recent times. The 27-year-old is not someone who makes any attempt to hide how appreciative he is of where he finds himself.
Theegala would secure that debut win later on in 2023, as he clinched the Fortinet Championship in September. He would finish two shots clear of S. H. Kim in California.

He was unable to add to that tally of wins in 2024. However, he gave an outstanding account of himself at the Tour Championship where he finished third. Theegala would have shot the lowest score of the week had he not called a penalty on himself for potentially brushing the sand in the bunker during the third round.
His form did earn Theegala a place in the Presidents Cup team at Royal Montreal. He did earn 1.5 points from his three matches as USA retained the cup relatively comfortably.
It has been an uninspiring start to the season for Theegala – though he has made the cut at all six events he has played this year. And the Genesis Invitational saw his best result of the year, with a tied 17th finish at Torrey Pines.
Mito Pereira looking to arrest his slide on LIV Golf
Pereira meanwhile, would make his Presidents Cup debut two years earlier at Quail Hollow. Unfortunately for the International team however, he would end up moving to LIV Golf the following year – with his move confirmed on the day Full Swing was released.
Pereira finished eighth in the individual standings during his first year on LIV, with the highlight being the second place finish at Greenbrier – the event best known for Bryson DeChambeau‘s round of 58.
The following year was a lot more disappointing for the Chilean. He narrowly missed out on relegation as he finished 47th in the standings.
A 12th place finish in Adelaide marked the only event where the 29-year-old actually scored points.
And it has been a rough start to 2025 with Pereira finishing outside the top 40 at both Riyadh and Adelaide.
It definitely appears that Theegala has the edge between the two as 2025 really gets going.
