He might be best known for being one of the best strikers in the world of football, but Harry Kane is just like everyone one of us when it comes to golf.

Kane is an avid fan and player of the game and is known to be quite the player when it comes to actually getting out on the fairways.

Of course, with that added fame and money comes opportunities that some of us mere mortals won’t ever get when it comes to golf. One of which, for many anyway, is playing at Augusta National.

Naturally, Kane has found his way into having a round at the famous Masters venue. And speaking to Andy Carter on YouTube, Kane has at least shared with us all what it’s like to play there.

Speaking about his round at the famous course after Scottie Scheffler had won, Kane revealed that it’s every bit as special as it’s made out to be.

“I think my most special memory on a golf course is I got to play Augusta. Just to be there, I watched it on the Sunday and I was able to play it on the Monday, the day after the final round. The course was perfect condition, full Sunday pins, they didn’t do the tees unfortunately they kind of put us forward but just that moment and being at Augusta and hitting that tee shot. Playing amen corner, I actually birdied 13, my only birdie of the day,” Kane said.

“It’s honestly magical. I’d always dreamed of going there and I went there on the Sunday to watch and walking down to amen corner it just had like this mist over the water and seeing it so often and when you’re there it didn’t disappoint, it was just magical. Until you’re there you can’t see the hills and the slopes but until you’re there, that 18th hole, straight up a hill, you can’t tell on TV.”

This year’s Masters is just around the corner in April when the world’s best will all convene to take part.

Once again, the story is about Rory McIlroy finally getting that green jacket, while the returning LIV players, including current winner Jon Rahm, will all be in focus.

Kane, then, like all of us, will be watching on intently and no doubt willing Rory to get over the line.
