Dame Laura Davies believes that Min Woo Lee has the game to win The Players Championship this week, insisting that she would not be surprised to see him up there on the leaderboard at Sawgrass.
Many may be expecting Min Woo Lee to build on his fantastic 2023 this year. The Australian has already finished in the top 25 at all four majors, with a top five finish coming in last year’s US Open at Los Angeles Country Club.
He also has a superb finish at The Players Championship under his belt, with the 25-year-old finishing tied sixth on his debut at the event last year.

Ahead of this week’s tournament, the Sky Sports pundits were asked for their predictions. And Dame Laura Davies has suggested that Lee has the game to put himself in contention over the coming days.
“Min Woo Lee hits it a mile – and long hitting around Sawgrass is definitely needed. He has played really well this year and has done well at The Players before,” she said.
“He won a tournament down in Australia towards the end of last year and I just think he’s got the game that can spring a surprise. For me, it wouldn’t be that big a surprise if he had a really good week.”
Chance to make a statement ahead of The Masters
This is a brilliant opportunity to build some momentum ahead of The Masters next month. Obviously, many will be expecting Scottie Scheffler to be right up there after his outstanding performance at Bay Hill last week.
But there is a stacked field preparing to tee it up in Florida. And it is going to be quite something if Scheffler can come close to how well he putted at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Someone like Lee looks to have the potential to be a real star over the next few years. He appears to be absolutely fearless and has a real confidence in himself that is surely going to take him a long way.
It would be a real statement if he could get his first PGA Tour win this week.
