Adam Scott and Padraig Harrington have been two of the most successful golfers in the game over the past two decades or so.

Scott has one major win to his name – the 2013 Masters, while Harrington is a three-time major champion.

Adam Scott’s incredible ball-speed gains over the past year or so have stunned golf fans and, indeed, his fellow PGA Tour pros.

Do you think long putters should be banned?

Yes or No…

The same can be said for Harrington, who is by far the longest hitter on the PGA Tour Champions, and has been for quite some time.

The three-time major winner has topped the driving distance stats on the Champions Tour in America for four consecutive seasons, averaging well over 300 yards off the tee every year.

It is remarkable that both Scott and Harrington have become longer in their mid-40s and mid-50s respectively than they were in their primes.

Greg Norman’s son makes Padraig Harrington claim after Adam Scott praise

Scott and Harrington managing to increase their ball speed as they’ve gotten older has obviously required a lot of hard work and dedication.

Greg Norman’s son took to his X account on Friday and shared something incredible he has heard about Harrington.

Incredible golf fact I learned yesterday from legend Olin Browne,” Norman Junior said.

Pretty much everyone knows 45 year old Aussie Adam Scott is reaching close to 190 ball speed, but what’s really amazing, 54 year old Padraig Harrington is hitting 190 ball speed on the reg.

While Harrington has worked incredibly hard on his speed, there is absolutely no way he is hitting 190 mph ball speeds ‘on the reg’ at 54 years of age.

There’s no question that Harrington is able to push his speeds up to near the 180 mph mark, but 190 mph ball speed is a different kettle of fish entirely.

If Tiger Woods plays in The Masters this year, will he make the cut or miss the cut?

The ball speed leader on the PGA Tour right now is Gary Woodland, with the American averaging 188.31 mph with his driver.

Meanwhile, Adam Scott’s average ball speed this season is 183.84 mph.

I would be hugely surprised if Harrington averages anywhere near Scott’s numbers this season.

Anything over an average of 170 mph ball speed would be hugely impressive for Harrington at the age of 54.
