The PGA Championship is next on the horizon for the world of golf and with Rory McIlroy in such fine form, YouTube star Grant Horvat has made a bold call on the world number two.
McIlroy won The Masters last month to win his first major in over a decade and finally land the career grand slam.
Now, with McIlroy admitting he is playing with less pressure, the PGA Championship coming up gives him another ideal chance to win his sixth major title.
However, while picking up a second major of the year would be massive for McIlroy, popular YouTube golf star Grant Horvat actually believes McIlroy could be on course to make golf history in 2025.

Grant Horvat suggests Rory McIlroy can make PGA Tour history in 2025
McIlroy’s grand slam means he can retire now without the feeling of ‘what if’ hanging over his head but there is a feeling in golf that he will add more majors now with ease.
The idea of McIlroy playing with such freedom and confidence is a problem for the rest of the players on TOUR.
And despite finishing down in a tie for seventh at this week’s Truist Championship, Grant Horvat believes he’s seen enough from McIlroy to suggest he could win all four majors this year.
Taking to social media to make the comment, Horvat claimed that McIlroy won The Masters without even playing his best and suggested he could now make history.
McIlroy can be out on his own if he wins all four majors in a year
The closest we have got to a player achieving this in The Masters era has been when Tiger Woods completed his ‘Tiger Slam’ of winning four successive majors but crucially, his Masters win was in a different season.
Prior to The Masters existing, Bobby Jones actually won all the major championships on offer in 1930 before The Masters existed.
| Year | McIlroy’s finish | Score to par |
| 2010 | 1 | -15 |
| 2011 | CUT | +3 |
| 2012 | 2 | -14 |
| 2013 | T-10 | -4 |
| 2014 | T-8 | -8 |
| 2015 | 1 | -21 |
| 2016 | T-4 | -7 |
| 2017 (PGA Championship) | T-22 | +1 |
| 2018 | T-16 | -3 |
| 2019 | T-8 | -7 |
| 2021 | 1 | -10 |
| 2022 | 5 | -4 |
| 2023 | T-47 | EV |
| 2024 | 1 | -17 |
Rory McIlroy, then, can put himself out in front in the record books if he can keep winning. As the table above shows, McIlroy is more than adept around Quail Hollow, which will increase the feeling he can win again next week.
Of course, the fact nobody has ever done it shows how hard it is. But if McIlroy can indeed win the PGA, the belief that he can claim a historic quartet will start to grow.
