The inaugural Creator Classic took place at East Lake ahead of the Tour Championship; however, one significant YouTube star was missing.

Grant Horvat, who had previously filmed with Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm, was absent in Atlanta.

Horvat’s subscriber count is one of the biggest on the platform, so many were surprised at his absence at the East Lake event. YouTube stalwart Rick Shiels was also not in attendance at the Creator Classic.

However, Horvat has since broken his silence and explained why he wasn’t present at the innovative PGA Tour tournament.

During a recent video with fellow YouTuber Micah Morris – who participated in the Creator Classic – Horvat revealed prior commitments were the reason behind his absence.

“The reason why I wasn’t able to play in the Creator Classic was because my best friend had a wedding the day after, and I was his best man. We were doing groomsman stuff the day before,” Horvat explained.

The American, however, did suggest he would be open to playing the tournament in the future. “I knew if that was successful, there would be one next year, and I’ll love to play in it,” Horvat added. It was cool to watch.”

How many YouTube subscribers Grant Horvat has

Horvat, as previously mentioned, is one of YouTube’s biggest names and would no doubt have been invited to the Creator Classic.

But, of course, his best friend’s wedding was always going to be hard to miss.

Horvat has 874,000 YouTube subscribers and was racing DeChambeau to 1,000,000 before the two-time major winner decided to film a video with former President Donald Trump.

Unsurprisingly, DeChambeau raced past the 1,000,000 threshold and is now closing in on the 1,500,000 mark.
