Tiger Woods might be the most successful PGA Tour player of all time but at 48, there are big question marks over whether the 15-time major winner can ever get back to his best.
Woods tried to compete in the majors in 2024 but had a miserable time of things, making the cut in just one of the events.
Indeed, Colin Montgomerie caused a stir by criticising Woods for still going to play, despite his obvious injuries and lack of form.
Still, Tiger Woods is one of the world’s great competitors and he is set to go again in 2025 as he goes in search of more success before he turns 50.

Of course, quite how well Woods can do in the tournaments he does play, remains to be seen. Clearly, the injuries have caught up with him and half the time, simply getting Woods around the course for four rounds is the biggest challenge.
With that in mind, the popular golf social media account, @NuclrGolf, posed the question of if Woods will ever win another major in his lifetime.
And as is always the case on social media and X in particular, the question caused plenty of debate in the replies.
Golf fans are certain in their views when it comes to Tiger Woods winning another major
Unfortunately for Tiger, despite plenty of people wanting him to do well, it seems that the realist among the golfing community is coming to the fore now.
Indeed, it seems that the world of golf has very much decided that Woods’ time has been and gone.
Another golf fan, @benjamenpyle, claimed that the only wins for Tiger will come on the Champions Tour.
“On the champions tour. Sure. We will be lucky if he wins a PGA Tour event at this point. Too much wear and tear and damage on the body. Not to mention lack of competition as he can’t make it multiple weeks in a row for 4 days.”
However, @backchormee didn’t quite rule Tiger out, as they offered a ray of light.
“Tom Watson had a putt to win one at 59. It’s golf – not the most physically demanding of sports even for a broken down body like Tiger’s. Not ruling it out.”
But @Dettwenty soon poured water on that idea, suggesting Tiger’s time has sailed.
“Nah I think it’s safe to say that the ship has probably sailed. It would take an insane stroke of luck just for his body to hold up the entire four rounds.”
Finally, @Buckeyepeter1977 went along with the same thought as the rest, albeit he praised Woods for still being able to compete.
“I don’t think he will but it shows just how great he was that he’s able to even play with the injuries he’s had. Much less the level he can play at. It looks painful to walk.”
It seems, then, that the world of golf continues to live in hope when it comes to Tiger Woods, rather than with any sort of realistic idea that he will win again.
