LIV Golf’s transfer window has been open for nearly three weeks – and golf fans are all saying the same thing about the mid-season trading period.

The window, which started on May 8, runs for one month and allows rival teams to trade players without making modifications to their contracts.

Furthermore, players who are in the final year of their existing deal are able to negotiate new terms with their current teams.

However, so far, no one has engaged in negotiations over a potential trade.

Golf fans around the world have raised similar complaints about LIV Golf’s transfer window, with the common theme of ‘Does anyone really care?’ emerging frequently.

The franchise is still in its fledgling stages, and, quite frankly, the teams don’t have a loyal fanbase who will be consistently following the transfer news.

Popular golf account, Flushing It, wrote: “The LIV “transfer window” for team trades has been open for more than 2 weeks and there’s been zero moves and no rumours. If the team concept and franchise model is going to be the valuable asset of the league, then there needs to be more juice. This current role out is not good.”

Another account wrote: “Does anybody really care?”

Finally, Joseph Michael added: “Another Liv failure has been pushed into a corner, to be forgotten about, or just for all to pretend it was not announced before the PGA Championship, remember? The LIV “transfer” window has failed to produce a trade between teams in the two weeks that the market has been open. Were you hoping for a blockbuster deal? Hahaha, No, Club 54 was trying to steal headlines, and their players revolted!!!!!!”

Not the first time LIV Golf decisions have come under the spotlight

LIV can’t quite manage to get themselves out of the wrath of fan anger at the moment.

After announcing their venue for the team championship in September, the golfing world was quick to highlight that the event at Maridoe Golf Club would clash with the football season and the Dallas Cowboys home fixture against the Baltimore Ravens.

It was a similar story for the individual venue, with fans slamming Bolingbrook Golf Club for being a sub-par venue for an end-of-season event.

Clearly, the breakaway league is still finding its standing in the global game, and there have been some successes – LIV Golf Adelaide is the prime example.

However, more intelligent decision-making and ideas are required moving forward. The transfer window felt rushed and ill-thought-out from the start.
