In the modern golfing world, the YouTube universe and LIV Golf are two prominent features on a weekly basis.
The rise of online presences like Rick Shiels and Peter Finch in the UK, and the likes of Good Good and The Bryan Bros over in the states have seen YouTube become one of the go-to platforms for golf fans.
Likewise, LIV Golf has also caused a storm in the golfing world and coincidentally, features arguably the biggest Golf YouTuber of all in Bryson DeChambeau.
Of course, this online world allows us to see professional golfers show another side to them while we also get to see the odd ‘dream’ match up.
Over the years we’ve had the likes of Rick Shiels take on Tommy Fleetwood and Sergio Garcia, while the Bryan Bros have featured taking on Jon Rahm and others.
On the whole, the content is easy to absorb and good fun to watch.
Now, though, LIV themselves a proposing a match up between two of their own stars to be streamed exclusively on YouTube.
Taking to their social account on X, LIV have proposed to fans the idea of Dustin Johnson teeing it up against Anthony Kim in what would be a one v one match over nine holes.

And as with all things social media related, the golf fans have been having their say on the matter.
Golf fans split as LIV suggests Dustin Johnson v Anthony Kim
While Dustin Johnson was once one of golf’s biggest names and has major wins to his name, he has slipped well away over on LIV and has produced terrible performances in the majors this year.
Kim, meanwhile, is just making his way back into the game after a decade away and as yet, hasn’t caught fire either.
It’s safe to say, then, that the golfing world seems split over on social media about the idea.
That negative theme continued as a number of other fans commented.
@Rodman743 gave it a scathing assessment, adding:
‘Seriously? Why? I know DJ is working his way to the bottom of LIV golf leaderboards a lot lately but damn…nah.’
While @OutdoorSmile1 suggested it would only work with a fun forfeit on the line.
‘Only if we see a real risk factor like, the loser has to jump in the pond.‘
Of course, there were some who liked the idea, as LIV at least got some people buying into the idea.
It seems, though, that LIV might have some work to do in selling this one completely.
As it stands, you’d imagine Johnson would blow Kim away in terms of pure ability.
But, you never know, and at the end of the day, that is what these online showdowns are all about.
