Indeed, the Open Championship takes place at Royal Troon next week but, first, the next event on both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour is the Scottish Open.
Rory McIlroy won last year’s edition, and he will be defending his title against many of the world’s best players, including Viktor Hovland, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and 2022 champion Xander Schauffele.
Here’s all the important information about the Genesis Scottish Open 2024.

Predictions
The Golfing Gazette writers predict who they think will walk away with the Genesis Scottish Open title and grand cash prize:
Peter Lynch: I’m going for Robert MacIntyre: Having just won his very first PGA Tour title at the Canadian Open last month, MacIntyre should be full of confidence.
Having his dad on the bag in Ontario will have been a special moment, but so would winning the Scottish Open on home soil, with the Scot having shot a six-under-par final round at The Renaissance Club last year to finish just one shot behind champion Rory McIlroy.
Jordan Harris: “When Rory McIlroy lost the Masters in 2011, everyone wondered whether the Northern Irishman would be able to bounce back. What followed was one of the most dominant US Open displays of all time as McIlroy secured his first major.
“The head may be saying otherwise, but the heart is predicting that McIlroy responds to his Pinehurst heartbreak by retaining his Scottish Open title – before securing an even bigger prize next week.”
