The PGA Tour Fall Series is coming to a close, with numerous high-profile players outside the bubble, so to speak, fighting to keep their cards for the 2026 season.

The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is the penultimate event on the PGA Tour Fall Series schedule.

Adam Schenk and Braden Thornberry are tied for the lead after three rounds, with both expected to make huge jumps inside the top 100 on the FedEx Cup points list.

That’s a big deal now, with the PGA Tour having changed the criteria for players keeping their cards.

Only the top 100 on the FedEx Cup points list after the Fall Series retain full playing privileges for next season, down from 125 last year.

And then those who finish in the 101-110 positions and the 111-125 spots will receive different levels of conditional status in 2026.

One man who has achieved huge success in the game is fighting incredibly hard to ensure that he has any kind of status whatsoever on the PGA Tour next season.

Former FedEx Cup champion in danger of losing PGA Tour card

The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is one of the weakest fields the PGA Tour offers up all season long.

Do you think golfers should receive a free drop from divots in the fairway?

However, there are still some big names playing at Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda this week.

Brandt Snedeker is someone who needed a really big week in Bermuda but as things stand, it is looking ever more likely that he will lose his PGA Tour card this season.

Snedeker served as a vice-captain at the Ryder Cup back in September, but now his full focus is on playing golf and securing his playing privileges for the 2026 season.

However, things are looking pretty bleak for him in that aspect right now.

Snedeker, 44, is currently sitting in a tie for 48th in Bermuda after rounds of 75, 67 and 70.

And he has slipped down from 123rd to 127th in the projected rankings as a result of his performance this week.

Snedeker has nine PGA Tour victories to his name and he won the FedEx Cup back in 2012.

He currently has top 50 in career money exempt status on the PGA Tour but that expires at the end of this season.

So Snedeker needs to shoot a very low final round today in Bermuda, if he is to move any closer to securing his card for next year.

If that fails, then he will need to perform really well at The RSM Classic next week.

Another nine-time PGA Tour winner could lose his PGA Tour card

It’s not just Snedeker who is struggling to retain his playing privileges for the 2026 season.

Another man with nine PGA Tour wins to his name needs a really strong finish in Bermuda this week.

Matt Kuchar is projected to fall outside the top 110 in the FedEx Cup points list after three rounds of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

That’s a big deal because those who finish in the 101-110 positions in the standings will receive more playing time next season than those who end up in the 111-125 spots.

Snedeker and Kuchar are fighting for their lives right now at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, with both of their PGA Tour futures uncertain.

What is so admirable about them, though, is the fact that they are both set up for life financially after their terrific careers so far, yet they’re still working their tails off to retain playing privileges for 2026.

Kudos to both of them.
