Augusta National is widely regarded as the most pristinely kept golf course in the world.

And now Dustin Johnson and his fellow LIV Golf member Patrick Reed have made quite the claim about one golf course they say resembles the famed Augusta National.

The Masters venue is one of the most challenging golf courses on the planet, especially around the greens.

Two-handicap golfer Gabby Herzig shot an 85 at Augusta National from the members tees the day after The Masters finished this year.

That gives an idea of how challenging the course is. Even the best in the world struggle to shoot in the 70’s at times.

What makes Augusta so famous though is its incredible beauty and impeccably manicured tees, fairways, greens and bunkers.

Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed say LIV golf course reminds them of Augusta National

Johnson and Reed are out in South Korea right now ahead of the seventh LIV event of the season.

The event will be played at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Incheon, South Korea.

And the two major champions are clearly big fans of the course.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil addressed the press on Wednesday, and opened up on what Johnson and Reed told him about the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club, First off, comparing golf courses we play is like comparing my four daughters, which of course I will do — no, I’m just kidding.

I had the chance to tour the golf course with Ross Hallett, who runs our events, and had a wonderful experience. It looks absolutely spectacular. I only say that before I play on it tomorrow which will probably change my mind because it looked like a few hazards out there that are going to cause me some trouble. It is absolutely spectacularly beautiful. Our players have really fond memories of playing here in 2025 with the Presidents Cup.

I believe Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed and Danny Lee played, and they all talked to me this morning over breakfast about how beautifully manicured the course is, comparing it actually to Augusta.
So we’re very excited to play.

That’s quite the claim from Johnson and Reed, and it remains to be seen whether it’s merely more than LIV propaganda once again.

That said, the golf course is undoubtedly beautiful and it is incredibly well looked after by the greenstaff.

Everything you need to know about the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in South Korea

The course was opened in 2010, and was designed by, you’ve guessed it, Jack Nicklaus.

It is a par-72 layout that stretches to 7,470 off the back tees. There are four par fives, four par threes and 10 par fours.

The Jack Nicklaus Golf Club has a course rating of 74.1 and a 135 slope rating.

It is as picturesque as it is challenging.

Unfortunately, you cannot just rock up and play the course – it is a members only club.

And in that sense at least, The Jack Nicklaus Golf Club is similar to Augusta National!
