David Duval lost out to Tiger Woods more often than most throughout his PGA Tour career.
Duval finally won his solitary major at The Open Championship in 2001 but if Tiger Woods never played golf, there’s a good chance that the 54-year-old from Jacksonville would be a multiple major champion now.
Duval has always been an outspoken character, despite his cool and composed nature out on the golf course.
Who is the biggest winner if Tiger Woods never existed?
Back in 2006, Duval criticized the Augusta National hierarchy for lengthening the golf course for The Masters.
So it’s fair to say that whenever he gives his opinion on his fellow pros, he’s not just speaking for the sake of it.
Bearing that in mind, it was hugely interesting to see Duval’s take on Woods’ career PGA Tour win record.
David Duval says what he thinks about Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour record
Woods is currently tied with Sam Snead for the most PGA Tour wins in the history of the sport, with 82 victories to his name.
They both won nine more tournaments than Jack Nicklaus throughout their careers.

However, Duval believes Woods stands head and shoulders above Snead.
He took to his X account on Saturday and shared his feelings on the matter.
“Tiger Woods is the all time winner on the PGA Tour. Period,“ Duval insisted.
“No team events. No 2 day events. No 3 day events in his total.“
The 54-year-old actually makes a great point here.
Tiger Woods reigns supreme with his PGA Tour record
Only 59 of Snead’s 82 wins came at four-round stroke-play events. One of his ‘official’ victories came at the Bing Crosby Pro-Am – a one-round event.
Where will Tiger Woods finish if he plays The Masters this year?
Tiger is not ruling it out…
His tally also includes tournaments where he played as part of a team.
Tiger Woods should have the undisputed PGA Tour win record. He has won plenty of exhibition events throughout his career.
Snead added them to his tally, so why can’t the 15-time major champion do the same?
David Duval absolutely nailed it with his claim about Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour win record.
Hopefully he still has one more win in him so it isn’t even up for debate anymore.
