Tiger Woods has been dropping hints left, right, and center recently that he will play at The Masters this year.
Woods is still in recovery after undergoing back surgery in 2025, and the five-time Masters champion has been dealing with an Achilles problem as well.
Woods refused to rule out a return to action at The Masters when speaking to reporters last week at Riviera.
If Tiger Woods plays in The Masters this year, will he make the cut or miss the cut?
The man who many claim is the greatest of all time is still the biggest draw in golf, despite the fact that he hasn’t played in a competitive tournament for nearly two years.
Woods was world number one for a total of 683 weeks, and we will probably never see anyone dominate like he did ever again.
However, will he be back in action at Augusta National this year?
The fans would love to see it, but will the 2026 Masters come too soon for Tiger?
Colt Knost predicts if Tiger Woods will play The Masters this year
Golf fans are beginning to get really excited about the prospect of Woods showing up at Augusta National to play in April.
Now Colt Knost has delivered his take on the situation, when speaking on The Gravy and The Sleeze Podcast.
“If you would have asked me a couple of weeks ago, if I thought Tiger was gonna play, I’d say probably no,“ Knost admitted.
“I honestly am now leaning towards, yes.

“I think there’s a better chance he plays than he doesn’t. Just seeing him move around out there, his attitude, just his, I don’t know, everything.
“He just looks good right now, he’s going up and down the steps there on 18 at Riviera.
“I mean, walking is the biggest issue for him. And he said he’s been making full swings at home. They haven’t been great, but it’s Tiger Woods.
“We got some time. We got six weeks until the Masters. I’m starting to think, we’re going to see him tee it up.“
Why Tiger Woods should not rush back to play The Masters
The big concern for Tiger Woods fans is that he returns to competitive action too soon and ends up doing irreparable damage to his back.
This has happened on numerous occasions in the past, most recently in 2024.
He rushed back to play The Masters two years ago after withdrawing from The Genesis Invitational two months prior.
Where will Tiger Woods finish if he plays The Masters this year?
Tiger is not ruling it out…
As a result, he made his back much worse, and we haven’t seen the 15-time major champion in competitive action since The Open Championship in 2024.
The one huge positive is that Tiger Woods seems to be relatively pain-free right now, with The Masters just two months away.
He seems to be walking fairly easily, and that is vitally important given how physically demanding it is to navigate the fairways at Augusta National.
However, Woods needs to ensure that he is 100 per cent fit if he is going to commit to playing in The Masters.
There will be plenty more chances for him to play at Augusta National, but that might not be the case if he returns to action before he’s actually ready, and ends up doing himself more damage.
