Few players in world golf value major championships more than Brooks Koepka – and the LIV Golf star will desperately want to add a sixth to his resume in 2025.

For the American, a season is considered a failure unless he secures one of the sport’s most coveted prizes: The Masters, Open Championship, PGA Championship or US Open.

And 2024 will fall into the failure category for Koepka.

The 34-year-old finished T45 at Augusta National and T26 at the PGA and US Open. Koepka also placed well out of contention at The Open Championship [T43]. At Pinehurst, Koepka’s frustrations were evident after he squandered an early lead in the first round.

Whenever Koepka plays in a major, he is a threat; his 2023 PGA Championship win is still fresh in the memory, and Koepka’s brother Chase has shared an ominous update on Brooks’ current form.

Chase, who is returning to the sport in 2025, recently spoke to Golf Digest and revealed what Brooks shot when they played a practice round together in windy conditions in Florida.

“I played with him, and it was blowing 30 miles an hour, and he shot nine under,” Chase said. “He’s putting it well. He’s just got to be in [contention] on a Sunday [at a major] and he’s going to have a good chance to win.”

Chase will return to the course on Thursday at Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club as he looks to reignite his career on the Asian Tour. The 30-year-old has spent 15 months away from the course recovering from nerve damage to his shoulder.

When is Brooks Koepka playing next?

Koepka is set to return to the course next month as the LIV Golf season starts under the cover of darkness at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia.

The season opener is Koepka’s first outing since The Showdown in Las Vegas, which saw Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy run out comfortable winners.

With the breakaway venture heading to Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Florida before the Masters Tournament, the five-time major winner will target at least one victory before golf’s most prestigious event at Augusta National.

Koepka needs a green jacket and Claret Jug to complete a career grand slam and cement his place amongst golf’s all-time greats.
