It has been an interesting year for Bryson DeChambeau, with the Crushers GC captain arguably having an incredibly underwhelming season by his own standards on LIV Golf.

Bryson DeChambeau established himself as perhaps the most popular golfer in the current game in 2024, producing three outstanding finishes in the major championships. Of course, he won the US Open after one of the greatest days in major championship history.

But DeChambeau also finished in the top 10 at The Masters before coming within one putt of reaching a play-off at the PGA Championship.

DeChambeau was amongst a raft of top players who missed the cut at The Open Championship, and he has actually not yet won a single individual event on LIV this year. The 30-year-old is ninth in the individual standings.

Bryson DeChambeau shares which area of his game needs big improvement

It may perhaps surprise some who do not watch LIV Golf or keep up with the product that DeChambeau has had a quiet year by his standards. But it appears that he is well aware that he has plenty to work on.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, DeChambeau was asked by Tony Romo what he needs to do in his game, and he suggested that he has one major issue right now.

“Man, I’ve got to get my wedging better, that’s number one. It’s just starting lines, it’s really starting lines. Contact’s fine. It’s literally starting lines and making sure I can control certain types of shots in there. That’s one big thing,” he said.

A mixed year for the US Open champion

This season has still been a successful one for DeChambeau. He has won his second major title and his Crushers GC side currently lead the team standings as the final events of the year loom. However, he will surely feel that he has not done enough individually so far.

DeChambeau proved that he can compete against the best players, so having just one win throughout the year will probably frustrate him.

But if there is one player you can guarantee will put in more than enough hours over the coming months to improve ahead of 2025, it is surely DeChambeau. He is definitely going to be one to watch next season.
