LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau has played all over the world on numerous different tours.

So, when DeChambeau is discussing which course and specific hole is his favourite, it goes without saying that he has many to choose from.

DeChambeau proved his class by watching the Walker Cup at the Cypress Point Club on the Monterrey Peninsula in California last week.

The 31-year-old is a real box-office superstar in the game of golf, so the fact that he took time out of his busy schedule to support the American Walker Cup team is hugely commendable.

He has completely turned things around over the past year or so, and is now one of the most popular players in the game due to his social media activity and, of course, his exceptional golfing ability.

DeChambeau qualified for the Ryder Cup team automatically despite the eight majors since the start of 2024 being the only events he was able to gain points in.

The American is in an extremely privileged position whereby he gets the opportunity to play some of the very best tracks in the world.

But which one is his favourite?

DeChambeau has played some of the best golf courses in the world including Augusta National, Pebble Beach and numerous highly prestigious links courses over in Great Britain and Ireland.

So it’s interesting to know what course, and indeed specific hole, is his favourite on the planet.

In a video posted by the USGA on social media platform X, DeChambeau named Cypress Point as his favourite course in the entire world and picked one hole which he quite simply adores.

He said: This by the way, is my favourite golf hole in the entire world – number nine at Cypress Point.

So it’s a par four, driveable hole. Most of the time I would drive it, but ultimately it’s the greatest risk-reward hole in all of golf I believe.

Normally you hit a six-iron, seven-iron, lay up, but in my case I’d bomb it on there.

What a great golf hole, and it’s framed by that mountain behind it. This is it right here. If I had to play one golf hole at the end of my life, it would be the ninth hole at Cypress Point.

All you need to know about Cypress Point and the ninth hole

Cypress Point is a strict members-only golf club, with an alleged $250,000 initiation fee required to join.

The only way you can play there is to either join or be invited by a member.

Similarly to Augusta National, cell phones are not allowed anywhere on the property.

The same applies to range-finders of any kind.

If you are a guest lucky enough to be given the chance to play Cypress Point, you must arrive at the club between 7:00 and 7:15 am and finish your round within four hours.

Only single-digit handicap golfers are allowed to play from the back tees at Cypress Point.

DeChambeau’s favourite hole – the ninth – is a short par four measuring just 289 yards.

The hole dog-legs slightly to the left and is heavily guarded by deep, foreboding bunkers.

With a prominent mountain range and sand dunes in the background, the ninth hole at Cypress Point is a truly majestic sight and it’s no wonder that it is DeChambeau’s favourite hole in the entire world.
