Bryson DeChambeau produced the goods during round two of LIV Andalucía today as he put himself back in contention for the final day.

DeChambeau is some six shots off of his Crushers GC teammate Anirban Lahiri at the top but produced a memorable round which included a long distance hole out on 14 to put himself back in contention.

For DeChambeau, who is one of the most talked about names in the whole of golf right now, keeping up the momentum following his US Open win is crucial for him.

With a Ryder Cup year to come in 2025, DeChambeau will want to make himself one of the first names on the team and he can only do that by winning on LIV and then impressing in the majors.

However, while he was happy to get under par around Valderrama today, DeChambeau admitted he made some frustrating mistakes along the way as well.

Speaking to the LIV media teams after his round in Spain, DeChambeau was in bullish mood about his round overall.

However, he admitted that he made some errors that ultimately cost him.

“I was pleased with the round it didn’t particularly strike my irons or my wedges as good as I would have wanted,” DeChambeau commented.

“And then I made some mistakes on the par 5s. 17 I didn’t get down there and then catching it short and ending up in the water then the same thing on four, just derailed a lot of the momentum to get to three or four under today.

“A bit frustrated but to shoot four under par around this golf course is great. I know what I shot last year but to get under par around here is a treat.”

DeChambeau’s Crushers team are primed to win the team event if they can produce on day four.

All four players’ scores will count towards the final total, meaning they are in a good position to win.

DeChambeau himself might be too far off teammate Lahiri to win but the American has gone low around Valderrama before and if he does it again, then you just never know.
