One of the reasons Bryson DeChambeau has arguably gone from being such a divisive figure in the golfing world to one of the most popular players today is the content he has produced on his YouTube channel.

Of course, some are probably unlikely to ever warm to Bryson DeChambeau. The 31-year-old has always done things differently in his career, particularly with his equipment and his swing, while some of his antics on the course have attracted criticism. And no player who joined LIV Golf in 2022 was viewed in a particularly favourable light.

But it was remarkable just how popular a winner DeChambeau was of the US Open in June. He endured one of the greatest duels in major championship history against someone as beloved as Rory McIlroy. And yet, DeChambeau had the crowds queueing to touch his trophy after he had won it for a second time.

DeChambeau’s YouTube channel has definitely played an important part in his turnaround. Regardless of how genuine you believe DeChambeau to be, you cannot deny that the Crushers GC captain comes across extremely well, particularly when you compare that with the perceptions many had of him previously.

And no set of videos of his are more popular than his Break 50 challenge where he and a guest attempt to shoot below 50 from the front tees on a course, playing a scramble.

He has had all sorts of guests, including Sergio Garcia, Donald Trump and Tony Romo. However, he has, so far, been unable to shot a 49. But surely his dream guest would be the perfect partner. Speaking on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel, DeChambeau was asked who he would most love to have join him, and of course, he opted for arguably the greatest to have ever done it.

“Tiger,” he said.

“I’d love to have Tiger on, I was good friends with him, man. It would be so sick to have him on.”

A video involving Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau may actually break the internet

It goes without saying that it would be one of the biggest golf videos of all-time on the platform if DeChambeau and Tiger Woods teamed up.

Unfortunately, it is becoming less and less common to see Woods tee it up due to the injuries he has dealt with during his career. So it would be incredibly special to see such a collaboration, especially as there would also be plenty of opportunities to hear from Woods.

There is also the fact that the pair come from different sides of the divide in golf’s civil war. While attitudes towards LIV have softened, it would be significant if Woods and DeChambeau teamed up – as they did on one occasion at the 2018 Ryder Cup in a losing effort against Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari.

It is not surprising that DeChambeau opted for Woods. In truth, it would probably attract a much bigger audience than many of the events on the PGA Tour or LIV get anyway if it did happen.
