Bryson DeChambeau was not happy with some of the ‘banter’ he heard from the fans at LIV Golf UK last week.

DeChambeau is well known for his interactions with fans on the LIV Golf circuit, and he is a huge draw wherever he plays.

The 31-year-old American often provokes thoughtful debate with his view on the game, and at times, causes controversy with his takes on modern-day golf.

DeChambeau recently hit the headlines by taking a sly dig at Rory McIlroy, when he suggested that he will be ‘chirping’ in the Northern Irishman’s ear at the Ryder cup, if they are drawn to play one another.

Keegan Bradley has already confirmed that DeChambeau will be on the US Ryder Cup team in September.

The two-time major champion is totally deserving of that after a really impressive 2025 season so far, and he must be in a really good place in his life right now.

His popularity amongst the fans has skyrocketed over the past 12 months.

However, there are some who question whether there is actually any authenticity behind DeChambeau’s recent attitude change.

The American definitely didn’t have his ‘A’ game at the JCB Golf and Country Club, but he still entertained the fans with his prodigious length off the tee and box office playing style.

DeChambeau has established himself as a real fan favourite over the past year or so, with his interactions with fans throughout tournament weeks becoming commonplace.

However, he clearly wasn’t happy with one thing in particular that he heard the LIV UK fans say during the tournament last week.

In fairness to DeChambeau, he is 100 per cent spot on there. If so-called fans are urging players to miss putts, it is quite simply unacceptable, and that kind of behaviour needs to be stopped immediately.

That said, it will be interesting to see if he has the same energy at the Ryder Cup in September when the American fans begin similar chants!

DeChambeau has played extremely well this season, but he would undoubtedly have liked to have more wins to his name.

The main priority for DeChambeau in 2026 will be to win a major championship.

He came incredibly close this season, before falling at the final hurdle.

If he sharpens up his iron play, 2026 could be a great year for DeChambeau.
