Bryson DeChambeau makes claim about Scottie Scheffler ahead of the PGA Championship after winning LIV Korea

Bryson DeChambeau finally got a win on LIV Golf as he won LIV Korea but the US Open champion has admitted that his focus is now firmly on winning more majors and battling it out with the very best.

DeChambeau’s two-shot win in Korea got him back in the LIV winner’s circle for the first time since 2023 and after winning the US Open in dramatic fashion in 2024, he’s now looking ahead to the PGA.

Of course, DeChambeau blew a golden chance at The Masters last month as Rory McIlroy won out.

Now, with DeChambeau getting his own monkey off his back, McIlroy in fine form and Scottie Scheffler finding rhythm again, the conversation about who will win the PGA at Quail Hollow will start to hot up.

And for DeChambeau, that is what it’s all about.

Bryson DeChambeau was delighted to get the win in Korea and out of all the LIV players, the victories on that tour do seem to really matter a lot to him.

However, the PGA Championship subject was broached by the media afterwards and DeChambeau admitted that his focus is very much on that event now.

“My goal is to win every tournament that I show up to. Scottie is on a great run. Joaquin Niemann is on a great run. Jon Rahm has been playing well. There’s a lot of star-studded talent out there right now that’s going to be in the PGA Championship. We’re going to be battling it out,” DeChambeau admitted.

“Glad to have pushed through in this victory and won this event, but there’s a lot more work to be done this year.

“There’s three more majors, and my eyes are focused on that with all the other LIV events, doing my absolute best in every single event I show up to.”

Could the PGA Championship be one of the best majors in years?

While it’s hard to imagine The Masters being topped this year for pure drama, we are in a position now where the PGA could well top it.

With Rory McIlroy playing so well, Scheffler coming back to form and now Bryson DeChambeau winning again, we have three huge names set to battle it out.

However, there are so many others playing well too. As DeChambeau mentions, Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann are flying, while on the PGA side, Justin Thomas has returned to something near his best and Collin Morikawa has been knocking on the door for months now.

Come Quail Hollow, then, we might well end up seeing one of the best major tournaments in a long, long time.
