As well as being one of the best golfers in the world, Bryson DeChambeau is now firmly one of the top content creators in the sporting world as well.
DeChambeau’s YouTube channel and his Break 50 series has been one of the platforms big success stories in 2024, with his video with Donald Trump catching the eye in a huge way.
However, it’s not just the videos with celebs and former sports stars doing big numbers for DeChambeau.
A recent challenge where he was hitting a ball over his own house to try and make a hole in one proved a massive hit. Indeed, DeChambeau gathered a whopping 30,000 new YouTube subscribers during the challenge.
And delving further into the hole in one attempt, DeChambeau has now revealed how the numbers compare to his US Open win over Rory McIlroy in the summer.

Did Bryson DeChambeau’s hole in one challenge get more views than his US Open win?
Discussing the viral challenge on the latest episode of The Loop podcast, DeChambeau spoke openly about the idea and admitted that yet again, it garnered huge views on his social platforms.
“It was an idea which spurned about a year and a half ago fully when I had my golf green built and I looked over the house and was like ‘wow, I should hit over the house to back here’,” DeChambeau admitted.
“I had built grass in the front yard as an area to play soccer and football or baseball and then I had a mat I was chipping to the front green on and then I looked over and thought what if I just hit this over my house.
“I hit it over my house when the green wasn’t finished and it landed back there and I was like oh my gosh this could be an amazing viral content piece. Then we just story-lined it out. We figured out how to storyline it and it took off like crazy.
“It’s unbelievable the amount of data we have gotten on the back end of it. Obviously it was a big moment winning the US Open this year and it was probably my favourite moment this year in golf but the amount of views we garnered was more than the US Open and I was like what’s going on? It was wild.
“Super blessed it happened on day 16 as I was getting tired! I was like this is enough!”
DeChambeau is the king of golf YouTube
YouTube golf has been a huge success story for the game in general and we’ve seen some genuinely brilliant content over the years from the likes of Rick Shiels, the Bryan Bros and more.
However, there is no doubt that Bryson DeChambeau is now the top dog when it comes to content.
Rick Shiels has recently voiced concerns over the future of YouTube golf for people like himself and other creators and you could make the argument that people like DeChambeau getting involved haven’t helped Shiels and others’ cause.
But for now, whether it impacts other content creators or not, DeChambeau is simply killing it behind the camera and fans are already looking forward to what 2025 will bring.
