An excited DeChambeau is expecting big things during the 2026 season, on all fronts.
When speaking to the Mirror in Riyadh, DeChambeau responded when asked about some new equipment that he may have in his bag soon.
“It’s being worked on. It’s a longer process than we thought, but it’s close,“ the American said.
“We got a set of irons and they’re close, but not there yet.
“The driver, I actually have it here this week. I haven’t sent it to the USGA yet, but we’re just messing around with it, and I won’t be using it.
“But it’s a great step in the right direction.
“It’s given me probably 20 more yards of distance at least.
“It’s pretty wild, and it’s the right CT numbers and everything, so it’s pretty wild what we’ve done with it.“
If the 32-year-old really has gained 20 yards off the tee during the off-season, golf fans will be in for a real treat while watching him in 2026.
However, what is the real reason for his supposed distance gain? It can’t just be a new driver, surely? Otherwise everyone would be using it!

DeChambeau recently admitted he wants to cruise at a 200 mph ball speed on LIV in 2026.
In order to achieve that, he has put in a tremendous amount of work when it comes to speed training.

Back in December, DeChambeau said: “I’m not playing until Riyadh. I’m going to be going in hot though. I’m sneaky working on my game really hard.
“I’m going to start ramping up my speed again. I ramped up my speed in November, got it to where I was pumping over 190 quite efficiently with some slow golf balls and stuff. I got to 200 quite a bit.
“I haven’t done much recently though.
“But I’ll get back to speed training right after Christmas and going into the new season, I want to be close to 200. So that’s my goal. I’ll just get to a place where I’m super comfortable swinging fast.”
DeChambeau lives for competing and providing as much entertainment as possible to golf fans who watch him play.
If he has indeed added even more distance to his driving during the off-season, he will become even more of a blockbuster star throughout the 2026 season and beyond.
