Brooks Koepka has taken to social media to react to Bryson DeChambeau winning the US Open, with his old foe just about beating Rory McIlroy to the title at Pinehurst No. 2.
Bryson DeChambeau came out on top in one of the great major championship battles in the modern era, with the 30-year-old capitalising on a dramatic collapse from Rory McIlroy.
DeChambeau started the day three shots clear of McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Matthieu Pavon, but at one stage on the back nine, the LIV Golf star was two shots behind McIlroy.
Crucially, it appeared that McIlroy’s putter was hot and going to help see him over the line after a decade of waiting for his fifth major championship victory.

But just when it appeared that the 35-year-old had the tournament in his grasp, McIlroy missed short putts on 16 and 18 to present DeChambeau with the chance to win.
All the 2020 champion had to do was make a par on the final hole, but he certainly made hard work of doing that, needing to become the first player all week to make a par after ending up in the front right bunker.

Thankfully for DeChambeau, he was able to produce one of the shots of his life to set up a short putt for the victory. Unlike with McIlroy, there was no mistake from the American.
And following the win, Brooks Koepka posted his congratulations on social media…
How DeChambeau is now seemingly emulating Koepka
Of course, the beef between DeChambeau and Koepka appears to have been put behind the pair, with the two competing in an edition of The Match in 2021.
But it is still a classy touch as you would imagine that the pair are unlikely to ever become best friends – and it seems that DeChambeau has tapped into something Koepka had turned into an art form.
Koepka had become a player who almost exclusively saved his best performances for the majors, having already won five in his career – one more than events he had won on the PGA Tour.
DeChambeau has now finished in the top six at all three majors this year, seemingly taking advantage of his quieter schedule on LIV.
Koepka seemed to have more of the fans on his side at the peak of their rivalry, but the 34-year-old is also probably aware that DeChambeau is a different animal now, having arguably become one of the most popular figures in the game.
