The TGL is very much still in its infancy but it’s getting plenty of people talking, with LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka the latest to offer his take on the format.
Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods’ joint venture is heading towards its season finale for the opening year with the excitement of the playoffs to come.
Just like any product, TGL has had mixed reviews.
Fans have criticised the technology, but on the flipside, Rex Hoggard praised the entire TGL product for what it brings to the sport.
And speaking about TGL and adding his say on matters, five-time major Brooks Koepka has also hopped on the bandwagon.

Brooks Koepka gives his verdict on the TGL
As we all know, Koepka was actually down in Florida for this week’s edition and looked to be thoroughly enjoying himself.
And speaking to Joe Pompliano, Koepka has admitted he really likes the TGL concept.
“As a player you look out at the crowd and see young people and you want to be able to bring your family. I think sports are going that way, more vocal, they want a reaction out of you,” Koepka said.
It [The TGL] got guys chirping. I mean it’s fun, I want to watch it, it’s evolving, technology is evolving. Look it’s just golf at the end of the day and you’ve gotta make it more fun and entertaining and the attention span the younger generation has isn’t as long as everybody sitting on the couch watching golf for 5 or 6 hours.
“You’ve got to innovate and be creative and that’s what we’re trying to do, TGL is trying to do the same thing.”
Could we see LIV Golf stars on TGL?
Any team event can be exciting in sports and the TGL is offering new fans of golf the chance to watch a quick snippet of the sport and get themselves invested.
However, right now, it’s very much PGA Tour focussed and over time, that might need to evolve.
Indeed, the TGL have been told they’d be better if they signed up Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau to the fold.
“Scottie plays brilliant golf and he’s actually a really good interview if you sit him down with a serious topic. I don’t find him to be overly engaging or funny or a trash talker, you don’t really see that so I don’t know how he’s going to add to the broadcast,” Rex Hoggard said previously.
“I could see Jordan [Spieth], certainly. We’ve seen the lighter and funnier side of Jordan, so that might help. However, if we wanted to go into the list, we’re probably looking at a couple of LIV guys.
I think Bryson DeChambeau, would make it a lot more entertaining if we’re being honest. Brooks Koepka, he’d be a little grumpy, you could see him making it fun. But no, I don’t see Scottie make a difference.”
With the opening season nearly done with, it will be interesting to see if TGL do expand their rosters and look beyond their current lot.
