Brian Harman is back inside the winner’s circle on the PGA Tour, after his three-shot victory at the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio on Sunday.
His last PGA Tour triumph came at the 2023 Open Championship at Hoylake, so it was obvious to see why the win at the Valero Texas Open meant so much to him.
Brian Harman will now head over to Augusta National to compete in the 89th edition of The Masters.
However, it’s not all roses and butterflies for the 38-year-old Georgian.
There were calls for Brian Harman to be banned on Sunday night, after his ridiculously slow play at The Valero Texas Open.
He’s far from the most popular player in world golf, and he knows that as well.

A win at The Masters for Harman would be met by an overwhelming sense of annoyance from most golf fans.
But is he really capable of winning a green jacket in his native state of Georgia this week?
Brian Harman’s Augusta and Masters claims after winning Valero Texas Open
Harman will be desperate to win his second major championship this week.
Whilst his game in general isn’t really suited to the Augusta National layout, someone with his short-game and putting skills can never be ruled out.
He is obviously in very good form entering into the week as well.
Harman explained how TPC San Antonio is the perfect warm-up for Augusta National in his eyes:
“I think Augusta has a way of snapping you right back into reality, that course can be such a challenge. I actually think this is a really great warmup — not to diminish this golf tournament at all, this is a very incredible golf tournament, hard one to win, but this is a great warmup for Augusta.

“Augusta gets tricky winds, Augusta has pins that are perched up on top of spots just like they are around here. For me, I took a couple years off of this golf tournament and then when I came back and it’s beautifully over-seeded, like man, this is about as good of prep as you can get for Augusta.“
Brian Harman has competition for golf’s most unpopular player crown
Patrick Reed has managed to anger golf fans for years now.
His win at the 2018 Masters was met with sheer apathy from the golfing world community.
The aloof Reed is one of the most unpopular figures in the game.
He has history of winding up his opponents, and he has been accused on multiple occasions of taking a lax approach to the rules of golf.
Aside from friends and family, there will be little support for Brian Harman and Patrick Reed at Augusta this week.
