Brian Harman ventured away from America for a rare appearance on the DP World Tour this week.

Harman teed it up at the DP World India Championship on Thursday and has played exceptionally well so far, firing rounds of 68 and 65 to trail the leader, Tommy Fleetwood, by just one shot.

Before the tournament began, Harman was predicted to play well at the DP World India Championship, due to his accuracy off the tee and his supreme putting skills.

The 2023 Open champion enjoyed a fine season on the PGA Tour in 2025, with one win and four top-10 finishes to his name.

The man from Savannah, Georgia, ended up in 13th position in the FedEx Cup standings.

Now his only focus will be on winning on the DP World Tour out in India.

Brian Harman gives golf course verdict at the DP World India Championship

As things stand, Harman will be in the final group alongside Fleetwood in India on Saturday.

Many will be backing the American to continue his fine play over the next two days, given the fact that the golf course suits him to a tee.

However, Harman made an admission about Delhi Golf Club after his second round on Friday.

He said: It’s a pretty tough course to learn, really. There are some really awkward tee shots that force you into hitting less than driver. It’s a little different to what we’re used to but I’ve enjoyed the course.

I’ve heard it called a second shot golf course, but the tee shots are tough. It’s a little bit like The Open, where you have to fit some shots into some places, it’s just kind of awkward.

I haven’t played a lot of golf since the Tour Championship, I’ve been pretty rusty, so it’s nice to get out there and watch some shots go where I want them to and nice to make some putts.

Why Brian Harman should have made the US Ryder Cup team

Harman obviously missed out on the US Ryder Cup team, but Keegan Bradley really should have taken him to Bethpage Black.

The main reason why he was left off the team was apparently due to his lack of distance off the tee, but he hits the ball a similar distance to Collin Morikawa, and he averaged five yards more than Russell Henley did on the PGA Tour in 2025.

Harman finished 12th in the US Ryder Cup standings, and given Morikawa’s woeful 2025 season, he would have been a much greater asset for Team USA at Bethpage Black than the 28-year-old was.

This isn’t just hindsight either. Morikawa showed absolutely nothing on the PGA Tour from March onwards, while Harman won an event in April and finished off his season with four consecutive top-25 finishes.

He possesses a solid 2-2-0 Ryder Cup record as well. The 38-year-old is a fierce competitor, and it’s fair to argue that Bradley made a big mistake by leaving Harman off his Ryder Cup team this year.
