Brian Harman was among the players to card a very good four-under par round at the Charles Schwab Challenge but he’s revealed he’s not part of a particular side bet going on.
Harman, who is the current Open champion, is looking to put a pretty poor last month or so behind him and find some form ahead of the US Open.
Luckily, it looks like things are coming together as Harman was among a group of players to card a solid four-under round and go into day two in prime position.

Of course, Harman is one of the top players on the PGA Tour and on his day, he can win any tournament.
However, while he is capable of winning, he’s not part of what seems to be a little mini tournament going on between a group of the players from Georgia.

Brian Harman says he was ‘undrafted’ among Georgia golf players for the Charles Schwab Challenge
Speaking in his flash interview after his round, Harman was asked if he was involved in the side-bet going on between the players from GA.
But commenting on the matter, Harman said he’s stayed well clear of proceedings this time.
“Not for me this week no, I’ve got my family out so I’ll let them play whatever the hell it is they’ve got going on,” Harman laughed.
“They’ve got something going on. I think they’ve bet a payment on a house for the week against each other but I wasn’t in the draft. I went undrafted. They had captains and then they picked.
“If one of them plays good then you can ask one of them about it but I’m not staying with them, so all good!”
Harman concentrating on the golf it seems
There’s no mention of the players involved here but clearly, the report asking the questions has got the heads up from someone.
For Harman, while he laughs this one off, it’s all about golf and getting back to somewhere near his best.
You don’t win The Open without being one of the best in the world but Harman has been miles off it since winning that, especially in 2024.
Harman, then, has done well to card four under and he’ll be keen to avoid any distractions.
Still, this is a fun bit of interaction and you can imagine he’s been involved in previous tournaments!
