Brad Dalke is amazing the golfing world on his DP World Tour debut.

The YouTube golfer received a sponsor’s exemption to play the BMW International Open, and he didn’t just show up to take part. He’s two shots back of the lead through 36 holes.

Dalke isn’t your typical YouTube golfer. He won the NCAA title, competed at the 2017 Masters and US Open, and finished second at the 2016 US Amateur. Dalke was an amateur golfer with massive potential, and is doing YouTube out of choice, not necessity.

He’s not alone there. Wesley Bryan is now a full-time content creator, having played for years on the PGA Tour, and there’s a whole host of other players with pro potential on YouTube.

The abundance of talent on YouTube shows LIV Golf missed out on a massive opportunity on their tour.

LIV Golf missed a massive opportunity by not having a YouTube golf team

LIV Golf has failed to capture the imagination of golf fans in recent years. The tour’s viewership numbers are dwarfed by the PGA Tour’s, and YouTube golf even draws better numbers for its biggest events.

But Dalke is showing LIV they missed a massive opportunity by not adding a YouTube golf team to their tour. The popularity of YouTube golf, combined with the obvious talent of some of the content creators, would make for a massive draw to their events.

Seeing Dalke and his YouTube team play against the likes of Bryson DeChambeau would be top-tier entertainment.

What are your thoughts? 🤔

Dalke is showing he can play with the best LIV has to offer. Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia are both in the field at the BMW International Open, and Dalke is beating them both.

LIV lost its Saudi funding for 2027 and beyond, so the tour’s future is in serious doubt. But if they can somehow find investment for next season, this option is still on the table if they can bring together the right group of players.

The players who could form a YouTube golf team on LIV

There are a number of immensely talented players on YouTube, but four would be the obvious contenders for this YouTube golf team.

First, Dalke, who has experience playing in major championships, is competing for a win on the DP World Tour. He’s proven himself to be the best YouTube golfer on the platform, and would be the obvious choice to be the captain of the team.

Then, the Bryan Bros. Bryan is a former PGA Tour pro, who is suspended from the tour for playing in a YouTube event hosted by LIV. He’s a PGA Tour winner and has played in all four major championships.

His brother, George Bryan, is also an elite player of the same standard. He never played on the PGA Tour, but according to the YouTube Golf Handicap Tracker, he’s of a similar handicap and could also compete at that level.

Finally, rounding off the team could be Luke Kown, who also has professional experience. He’d be the weakest on the team for sure, but he has a professional tour win on the PGA Tour China, and has played on the Asian Tour like many LIV golfers.

This team would absolutely be able to compete week in, week out on LIV Golf, and bring in a much bigger audience.
